For those asking, this is Beinn a' Bhùird and Ben Avon in the Cairngorms, in Scotland. And thank you for all the comments, which really mean a lot. Except those from Oscar the cat next door, who logs on to give multiple thumbs down before searching for his favourite Van Halen guitar solos.
Haha. You're so amusing. Beautiful area! And yes, the are good doggies for sure.
Those thumbs down are really weird... This video is ADORABLE.
Yes, Cats will do that.
Love your work! And the girls of course! This one was especially moving and poignant. Thank you!
Aww, such sweet pups 🥰
Andrew… just the best little videos. In the strangest way, I hope you are hugely proud of these.
Love your dogs, so attentive. Had a Great Dane in my first marriage and the dog was first jealous of me and later listened to all the commands to protect me, which came in handy one night. I worked a few blocks away from home, and got off late. The dog was sent to accompany me home. He was pitch black and usually walked right beside me, but, I allowed him to explore the bushes. Two guys approached me and I warned them off. They laughed, until I whistled. The dog would have never hurt a fly, but a 180 pound dog, flying out of the bushes had them running. Love your videos, brings back memories of when I had dogs.
Thank you for making me laugh so much I forgot I was supposed to be depressed!
Thankyou Andrew, Olive and Mabel... for sharing your beautiful country and hearts and cheering us up! G'day from Australia.
Absolutely beautiful. During lockdown you have brought laughter into our lives and now this wonderful video brings a year to my eyes. Olive and Mabel are just the best, thank you for sharing them with us.
Those pictures at the end had me tearing up. Thank you, Andrew, Olive and Mabel. You've helped so many smile during a deadly, difficult time. God bless.
A perfect picture of living life authentically, and with inner purpose....I imagine Andrew likes it also....
Love these videos Andrew thank you…. Can’t wait until our 5 month old black Lab can do those long walks 👍🏻🐕🦺🖤
What a heartwarming story of love and companionship. Thank you!
beautiful. Cotter is a poet and a filmmaker and the dogs he loves brings this out from him ...
I'd watch a full length programme on Andrew walking with his lovely dogs
Lovely - thank you... 💕
All of you make us smile.
I love you guys! thanks for making the pandemic a little bit better!
From NY:. Thank you so much for sharing Olive & Mabel with everybody during this pandemic. I especially love this video because connecting with nature and being outdoors hiking, among beautiful vistas is all inspiring and brings me much joy. Even just a few hour hike with my dogs renews and re-energizes me. My best hiking dog was a blonde German Shepherd, Betsy. I still miss her so much, we put many miles on many trails together. Beautiful video Thank you ❤️❤️.
My problem is now, when watching Wimbledon, I expect an appearance from Olive and Mabel. Frankly, I'd prefer that.
Thank god for a hiking video with humor
Such a wonderful video. I live the dogs and the funny commentary, but the last bit about sharing great moments with your dogs is the best truth.
Oscar hasn't been seen in awhile. Olive and Mabel wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would they? 😐
I absolutely love you guys and so enjoy their antics. Your adventure up the mountain was so incredible. The scenery was absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Walking near the edge of that snow overhang didn't seem like the best idea.
Editing + scenes + narrative = cool. Beautiful. Thanks Andrew, Olive, and Mable for the reflection and joy. Greetings from Chicago.
Best Dogs in the World Thanks for sharing
Thank you for taking them on a leash when walking by the edge. I was so worried they could fall as the snow breaks off!
Have you ever thought about a career in reading for audiobooks?
I love taking my dog for walks. I think the farthest we've ever been is three city blocks down and back. But that's a bit of a trek when your legs are only about three inches long......my dog's not mine.
Just finished your book, Andrew. It took me just one day. Loved every page. Laughed every page, or if not every page, then very often. Thank you so much.
Thank you - lovely to hear.
I've watched this short several times... you're one of the good ones, Mr. C. Thank you for sharing your fur babies and your touching words of wisdom.
I envy you so much.
Precious moments with precious pups 😁🥰
Thank you Mr Cotter, you’ve helped bring a smile to the world during the pandemic. Don’t stop!!♥️
This shit makes me cry every time. Esp since I am an animal lover/parent, lost 3 furbabies in the past year, with 2 more right behind.my dad also died from covid earlier this yr and my bro is struggling with perm effects from his bout with it, losing my home, and so much more. I am a therapist who has been there for my pts but the org I work with has abandoned me every step of the way. Thanks, Olive, Mabel, Mr Cotter. We may all come out of this thing somehow...
You've hit the nail on the head. There's nothing quite like having a solitary adventure with your favorite furry friend. They're enriching an already wonderful experience while having the best day of their month and you can feel proud knowing you're doing right by them. Dogs, in all their slobbering stupidity are indeed the best.
Now this video made my day! Thank you!!
I am so glad to have found this channel. The land of my heart. I miss her so much. I still want in a couple of years to be able to come over for two or three months❤️🙏🏻✝️🕊
Stunning views!!!! Wth's with the 79 thumbs down? Sheer nonsense. 😊🐾🐾💗💗
I’ve watched this a few times now and it’s just so lovely. 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
Such an amazing video, created your pet profile on the monkoodog app ? 's amazing as it has everything related to dogs. When you select your location the app will show nearby pet shops groomer breeders trainers vet clinics all related to dogs. You can connect with other dog parents nearby your location also. You can track your dog's vaccinations, deworming dates, growth charts. you can check it out, it is pretty cool!
Wow! This is a beautiful video. Thank you for showing me your part of Scotland. Beautiful country.
I love it all. Keep them coming please. XxxA
Living the dream!!!!
Andrew, what an inspiring video ♥️ It's so wonderful, full of touching scenes ♥️ Thank you so much. I send you warm regards from Brazil 🌻🌻🍀🌻🍀🌻🍀🌻
Wonderful! Thank you 🙏
Thank you for posting this beauty. 2nd year in a row, can't enter the UK (from Philadelphia) to visit my parents in the UK. Really left me feeling down and watching this was just the medicine to make me feel better. Prayers to the UK that everything will do a turnaround soon in terms of the virus
What a fantastic video and photos. Thanks Andrew!
I love this one. Im marvelling at ur experience, views and time together. As a lab mum, they are soooo special to be with. Im lucky to have her, not the other way round
Beautiful. Nicely done.
Actually, I vote for the Nobel Peace Prize. I think they can split it three ways.
Youre the silver lining to the pandemic. Thank you for sharing your fur friends with the world.
Did they get a sausage though?
I always get worried when I see dogs off leash where there are cliffs and steep drop offs. Maybe Olive and Mabel know better but I know some dogs that have run straight off the edge of steep slopes!
Lovely video thanks Andrew.
I have a yellow lab named Clyde who is my best silly friend!
Nice! And funny! :>)
Andrew - I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come back and watched this video. Each time it’s brought me joy and caused me to reflect on the important things in life. It always ends with me giving Luca, my German Shepherd, a hug and telling him he’s a good dog. Thank you for these minutes of sanity.
Watched this having recently returned from a long day hike with my two dogs. Brought tears to my eyes. You captured the experience with your eloquently chosen words perfectly. Thanks!
When you said, "let's get a fire on" I nearly wept - but I'm relieved to see you lift the fire off the ground (neat bit of kit). Excellent! #leavenotrace. By the way, I do love the videos of Olive and Mabel and this is a great video; I often wonder the same when I am out hiking/camping with my dog: does he just follow along or is he actually getting something 'extra' out of it (as am I)?
Always. And we soaked the ground as well...
Beautiful video. Keep them coming.
You have beautifully captured and articulated what I know, feel, and love about hiking with my dog.
Hoping you'll post again -- missing your adventures with the dogs. Hope all is well.
I know. No pressure, but.....
This is my favorite Olive and Mabel video to date. 😍
Your channel is just about the most beautiful thing on IRcloud - Whenever I need to remind myself that there is some hope in the world, this is one of the first places I think about. You have created something magical and I can't thank you enough for sharing it.
Really nice to hear - thank you.
Love Andrew Cotter and his wonderful dogs carry on
Oh my heart!
Three minutes and I both laughed and had tears in my eyes. What a way with words Mr Cotter has.
I was always skeptical when I heard people talk about getting 'a warm glow' after watching something. Now I get it.
Need more films Andrew
Yes. I'm waiting too.!
Just finished reading your book Andrew. Absolutely loved it. Made me appreciate my 3.5 year old Goldie even more (Didn't think that was possible) Was in Scotland (from Canada) a few years back, and did Edinburgh, up to St. Andrews, then over to Skye via Glencoe and Ft. William, for a couple of days. Fell in love with Scotland, and "canny" wait to get back there. Really loved Portabello. Any way love the vids and the book. Thanks for making the last year a little more bearable for me. Give Olive and Mabel a pat, and a scratch under the chin for me!! Cheers mate!
I bought the book for myself and as a Birthday Present for my Dad. They are WAY too similar to two Lab Crosses we had.
how far was the walk? Wow! it was beautiful!
Loved the video. We sadly lost our chocolate Labrador Meg on 1st May. She would have been 12 in September and we had her from age of 16 weeks. Many happy holidays walking in Dumfries and Galloway and the Lake District. Your words near the end about your dog's following you everywhere and treasuring the special memories ring very true. Will be getting another dog in a few months though your videos are very uplifting in the meantime
Well that was simply fabulous!!! Love these videos so much.
Thumbs down???????!!!! Cats just hate dogs!!!
Please keep doing these marvelous videos with Olive and Mabel. We still need the joy of hearing your stories. Thank you Andrew.
Such beautiful scenery and it includes two of my favorite things - Mountains and dogs. Thank you for sharing Mabel and Olive with us and for your beautiful commentary.
Just simply beautiful. Amazing scenery, heart warming narration, and star turns from the lovely Mabel and Olive. Thanks Andrew!!
Aww, this is beautiful. The wonderful trust they have for you..and the chicken bits, too.
This is my favorite video. It makes me smile but yet cry so hard. My border collie was cruelly taken from me nearly a year ago, and this makes me think of all the adventures we'll never have.
Respectfully sir I am concerned about the longevity of the dog's joints if they climb too many mountains. Arthritis is painful. Ty for the beautiful videos.
We had a Lab/Neuphie and I found a book on massaging dogs. I was worried about Joint Dysplasia with him, but it never became an issue. Eventually, he started to DEMAND the massages.
Good Man... Good Man... :)
The dogs can't speak but aren't going to let that bother them one bit. They don't understand everything but they understand enough to make the whole arrangement work smoothly and to the great satisfaction of all. One question though. How come I have such a difficult time understanding the Scots accent but can understand this Scotsman perfectly?
We love Olive and Mabel!!!!!
Dogs are the best!
My dog would lie down after a few km 🤥.. no, wait, she said i mean me
It’s not the same as being there, but for those of us who will never have this opportunity , Olive and Mabel - along with their intrepid leader - take us to a calm and happy place. Whether it’s in the confines of the reception room or the glorious peak of a mountain, we the fortunate followers, are gifted a few minutes of what matters most in life. Cheers to the Trio. 🌷
