Climbing The Breithorn in September 2009. Cable Car from Zermatt to Klein Matterhorn station at 3820 metres, then climb up to Breithorn Western Summit at 4164 / 5 metres (13660 feet) and on to Central Summit at 4159 metres. Great views of all the 4000ers in the area including, among others, The Matterhorn, Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Lyskamm, The Twins Castor and Pollux and Dufourspitze (Monte Rosa) as well as Mont Blanc in the distance.
Living landscape - chiaroscuro with sharp edges. The blue shadows make it 3 dimensional. Art. But in a weird way. All you need is a frame. The Wall in Game of Thrones would've been a snap for you. Jeeze how can you breathe? Andrew, you have officially landed in my zone of "these people are out of their minds." (susan kay a/k/a susan_revere)
Crowded up there. Beautiful. Have never heard of this mountain.

You’ve done your self a mischief u dog
Beautiful! Would you say it's safe to do solo if you stick to the trail?
@admcotter Thanks
+Tactical Scout Yes - very straightforward. Just stay away from cornice edges.
This really brings back great memories!
In 1974 when I climbed the Breithorn, there was no cable to Klein Matterhorn. We climbed the whole thing that summer. AWESOME
Nice video, thanks for posting this. Have you climbed any other 4,000 metre peaks in the Alps? After Toubkal this Summer, I plan to climb the Breithorn and then hopefully Mont Blanc.
NIce little video this. 5:39 cool traverse. Looks a good day for it.
